Neale McLanachan (off handicap of 23:30) won the 2011 Hughes Memorial Handicap 10.19km Road Race held in cold and rainy southerly weather conditions. He beat second placed Lisa Wiparata (off 7:00) by 36 seconds to also finish with fastest time of 35 minutes 44 seconds. And third placed Jason Palmer (off a handicap of 24:15) finished just 8 seconds behind Wiparata with second fastest time of 35 minutes 45 seconds. Fourth placed Alan Funnell (off 23:30) achieved third fastest time of 37 minutes 1 second.
Competing in the children's 1km race. Boys 10 grade runner Bruce Knox (off 0:00) and actual time 2 minutes 38 seconds finished 12 seconds ahead of Girls 12 runner Erin Knox (off 0:10) with actual time of 2 minutes 40 seconds. Men's 14 runner Reuben Knox completed the junior 3km race in 14 minutes 8 seconds.
